I am using VEE 8.5 and I have little hope of my boss approving an upgrade anytime soon. However, my IT group would like to try upgrading me to Windows 7. Will VEE 8.5 work on Windows 7?

Tom,

WOW64 is a transparent process that runs in the background automatically. There’s no need to install anything extra. I believe the VEE 9.2 Readme lists some workarounds for problems you might encounter on Windows 7 64-bit.

I am currently running VEE 9.2 with Windows 7 64-bit and it works fine.  I am not intentionally running WOW64.  If it was installed and currently running it has been totally transparent to me.  I see no evidence of it in either installed SW or task manager.

I'm thinking about getting a Toshiba P500 laptop with an Intel® i7-M720QM processor that will only run on Win 7 - 64 bits.
At the following site:

http://www.home.agilent.com/agilent/editorial.jspx?cc=CA&lc=eng&ckey=1525358&nid=-34095.0.00&id=1525358

it says :

"Agilent VEE supports Windows 7 (Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise with 32-bit and 64-bit supportability). Note that the 64-bit support has a 32-bit application running on WOW64 (Windows-on-Windows 64-bit) emulator. "

Wikipedia says of WOW64:

"Its primary purpose is to create a 32-bit environment that provides the interfaces required to allow 32-bit Windows applications to run unmodified in the 64-bit system."

Question: Is anyone out there running VEE 9.2 on Win 7 using WOW64? Are there are problems you've noticed?

Thanks!

Chris
