VEE Version 6.2 ReadMe

Overview

This upgrade replaces the recent licensing method with a simpler and easier to use Product Key methodology. The key does not depend on an ethernet interface, and it is not renewed annually. Once you have entered the key into Agilent VEE, that version of the product will work perpetually.

The 6.0 manuals are still current for this release.

Product Activation

 

Agilent VEE uses a Product Key to activate the product. When you purchase Agilent VEE, the Product Key is part of the media you receive, and you enter it during the installation.

 

If you purchase, upgrade to a new version, or upgrade from an evaluation version of Agilent VEE, a new Product Key is sent to you.

 

You can activate your new copy of VEE by entering the Product Key from the Help > About VEE Pro > Product Key menu item. Using the same menu item, you can review the Product Key at any time.

Software Requirements

Microsoft Windows 98, Windows NT SP6, Windows 2000, or Windows XP operating systems.

Hardware Requirements

 

Pentium 120 MHz processor, 266 MHz Pentium II or higher recommended.

32 MB RAM with Windows 98, 64 MB with Windows NT/2000/XP. 

Hard disk free space: Windows 98/ NT 4.0/2000/XP - FAT-32 550MB; NTFS 250MB

Access to the World Wide Web is strongly recommended 

CD-ROM drive 

Super VGA (800X600) display or higher resolution display with 256 colors or more 

PC Keyboard and 2 button Mouse 

One of the following physical connectivity options is required for the PC-to-instrument connection:

     -Agilent 82357A USB/GPIB Interface
     -Agilent E5810A or E2050A/B LAN/GPIB gateway
     -Agilent 82350A/B or 82341C GPIB interfaces
     -Standard RS-232
     -National Instruments I/O hardware using NI 488 version 1.5 or higher

Install

1. Exit VEE and close any VEE help window that may be open. If you have the VEE Service Manager running, exit it also.

2. Load the CD-ROM disc into your CD-ROM drive.

3. If the setup program does not run immediately, use Start > Run > [CD-ROM drive letter]:\Setup.exe.

4. You will be prompted for a Product Key. Enter the key number that was shipped with Agilent VEE.

Uninstall

 

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Select Agilent VEE Pro 6.2. Select Change/Remove.
